2008 Audi TT

The original Audi TT, launched in 1998, created a storm in the sports coupe market and did wonders for the Audi brand profile. Now, the manufacturer is preparing to launch the second generation of this highly successful sports car.

Under the skin though, this car is all-new. It uses a new aluminum and steel space frame (the first time both materials have been used in tandem) with 69 percent of the structure being of aluminum and the other 31 percent of steel. The steel sections are all found at the rear, serving as a counterweight to the engine and resulting in better weight distribution over the two axles

Engine choices range between Audi's loveable 200-hp 2.0-liter FSI turbo and the 3.2-liter V-6 that was available in the last TT, rated at 250 hp. Traditionalists will spec their TTs out with the six-speed manual gearbox, but we might go with the optional ultra-slick dual-clutch gearbox. While both engines get both transmissions, only V6 models will feature Quattro all-wheel drive, and four-cylinder cars will be front-driven. Wheels will range from 16 to 19 inches.

2008 Lamborghini Ad Personam

Ad Personam program, which will allow buyers more personalization options. We dug the Gallardo Spyder in the Reventon's matte finish black-brown Marrone Apus color scheme with the Alcantara interior trim. We're not so sold on the powder blue Murcielagos on the stand, but we'd take one with the model in the passenger seat

Based on a "think of the impossible" concept, Lamborghini will be displaying three vehicles -- a Gallardo Spyder, Murcielago LP640 Coupe, and an LP640 Roadster -- at the Detroit show, each with various custom touches. New shades of paint, including the matte finish black-brown Marrone Apus as seen on the Reventon, will be featured alongside a new type of untreated natural Italian leather that will be used to cover the seats of the two Murcielagos on display. A special light blue color inspired by light reflecting off polar ice, dubbed Blu Cepheus, will also be shown.

2008 porsche cayenne

As expected from Porsche, the new Cayenne not only looks more powerful, it is more powerful, with engines offering as much as 500 horsepower and with new dynamic technologies that allow the Porsche of SUVs to perform like a nimble sports car while being fully capable of carrying five people, towing a trailer and blazing over unpaved terrain and through inclement weather.

For the 2008 Porsche Cayenne with its $43,400 base price ($58,900 Canadian), that engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out 290 horsepower and 283 pound-feet of torque. For the 2008 Porsche Cayenne S with its $57,900 base price ($78,500 Canadian), the engine is 4.8-liter V8 that generates 385 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. For the 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo with its $93,700 base price ($124,300 Canadian), the engine is a twin-turbocharged version of the 4.8-liter V8 that produces 500 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, propelling the five-passenger SUV from a standing start to 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in a mere 4.9 seconds on its way to a top speed on the test track of 171 mph (275 km/h). Despite such performance, the enhanced engine injection technology and improved vehicle aerodynamics have resulted in significant fuel economy improvements in Porsche’s internal pre-production testing.

But direct fuel injection is only one of the new technologies featured on the 2008 Porsche Cayenne.

The second generation SUV can be equipped with optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control with active anti-roll bars that almost completely offset body roll in turns, improving handling, comfort and active safety \on-road while providing enhanced off-pavement traction.

Also new are Dynamic Curve Lights (standard on the Cayenne Turbo and optional on the other models) that improve the drivers view while driving on winding roads at night. Standard equipment on the 2008 Cayenne includes Porsche Stability Management (PSM®),now with such new functions as pre-loading of the braking system when needed, new Trailer Stability Control, and off-road anti-lock breaking system (ABS).

For the first time, the Cayennes come with a rollover sensor able to trigger both the belt latch tensioners and curtain airbags in an emergency, thus helping to reduce the risk of injury for all occupants in a rollover. In conjunction with the Cayennes six standard airbags, this system gives Porsche's SUV a benchmark occupant safety and protection system.

Other new features include a standard and push-button Sports mode for all Cayenne engines, a standard power rear lift gate, optional of 21-inch wheels, a rail-mounted cargo management system, and XM satellite radio.

Information on all current Porsche models can be found at www.press.porsche.com in the 2007 Model Year Press Kit section.

2008 Jaguar XF sedan

The new XF: a dramatic expression of a bold new Jaguar design language, with a driving experience that exceeds expectations created by the striking appearance: relaxed and confident, with outstanding ability and control.

Resolutely true to the Jaguar philosophy of creating Beautiful, Fast cars, the XF goes further, adding a new dimension to the marque. The four-door XF has the visual excitement of a coupe, but room inside for five adults to enjoy an interior wholly contemporary in style yet uniquely Jaguar.

As well as space, the new XF's interior ambience is enriched by crafted, luxurious materials, sophisticated instruments and calm interior mood lighting. Engineering excellence and attention to detail mean the XF's interior matches the best-in-class for refinement, while Jaguar's intelligent use of technology and driver-friendly Touch-screen controls add new layers of comfort and ease of use.

Every XF model has shift-by-wire transmission control, with Jaguar's class-leading sequential shift system – its popularity already confirmed by feedback from XK sports car customers – used for the first time in a saloon. Shift-by-wire replaces manual shift linkages with electronic commands and gives every XF rapid and very smooth gearshifts – faster, even, than the acclaimed XK's transmission.

The Jaguar Sequential ShiftTM System gives the driver the option of one-touch manual gearchange control via steering-wheel mounted paddles. There are also multiple JaguarDrive ControlTM transmission modes, including Dynamic and Winter settings, which interact with throttle progression, Dynamic Stability Control thresholds and shift strategy to match mood and conditions.

But the most exciting feature of the XF's transmission control is the all-new JaguarDrive SelectorTM – an industry-first rotary shift interface that combines precise, intuitive control with space-saving packaging, to allow maximisation of interior storage options.

Other innovative functional features add more 'surprise and delight'. Air-conditioning vents present a flush dashboard surface until the ignition is switched on, at which point they elegantly rotate to the open position. Another new technology - JaguarSenseTM - introduces touch or proximity-sensing control for overhead console lights and the glovebox release.

Every level of audio system features at least eight speakers, with a premium system designed in association with highly respected audio specialist Bowers & Wilkins available on range-topping models. Radio options now include a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system and Sirius Satellite Radio for the North American market, while the XF technology count includes Bluetooth® communications technology, plus optional iPod® and MP3 player connectivity with full-function control through the Touch-screen – and an auxiliary port on every car for other portable audio devices.

Other available features include JaguarVoiceTM control to operate audio and telephone functions, Blind Spot Monitor, Front and Rear Parking Aids and Rear Camera Parking Aid, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Speed Limiter, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Electronic Parking Brake.

2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 celebrates Aston Martins successes at the famous race track Nurburgring and features a 4.3-litre V8 engine that delivers (294kW) 400 hp and 420 Nm of torque.

The car also comes equipped with a new Sports Pack which offers subtly different driving dynamics tailored to enthusiasts who seek even more responsive handling. The Sports Pack comprises a unique lightweight graphite-finished aluminium wheel with diamond turning, up-rated springs and dampers and a new rear anti-roll bar (for the Coupe). The Vantage N400 also includes a number of exterior design changes, including a revised side sill design, Magnum Silver bonnet and side strake meshes, clear rear lamp lenses and a bright finish grille.

Interior enhancements include perforated black leather seats, micro-spin alloy facia trim and a unique numbered sill plaque. The Vantage N400 will be available in three new exterior colours; Bergwerk Black, Lightning Silver or Karussell Orange, with either Sportshift automated manual or conventional manual transmission and in either Coupe or Roadster forms. Additionally, the Vantage N400 comes equipped with a range of normally optional equipment, including Satellite Navigation, 700W Aston Martin Premium Audio System, Bluetooth telephone preparation, HID headlamps, cruise control and memory/heated seats.

FXX Millechili

The static model of the FXX Millechili was made of plastic and cardboard, and was displayed together with the Formula 1 racing car and the FXX.

Compared to the "standard" FXX, the Ferrari Millechili ("1000 kg" in Italian) Concept has compact dimensions: the wheelbase is 93.7 inches (-10.6) and the external body features much shorter overhangs and V10 engine with 600 hps.Estimated selling prince is 500k USD.

During the event Ferrari has revealed the main aspects of its future product strategy, which will be mainly focused on higher performances by reducing the vehicle weight, and increasing the energy efficiency.

The goal is to achieve total weight savings of about 300 kg, with savings of about 110kg for the engine and 90 kg for the main vehicle construction.

Some aerodynamics technical details were also revealed, including innovative solutions that contribute to reduce the drag coefficient: active synthetic jets, passive blowing, management of internal flows and underbody active flow control.

The FXX Millechili Concept is a reaction to pressures to clamp down on fuel economy and emissions, especially in Europe and the US.

The future Ferrari will have a smaller capacity engine capable of runing on E80 bioethanol fuel. Transmissions will also be smaller and lighter. Also the aerodynamics will be modified. Ferrari is currently working with Imperial College London on an advanced active aerodynamics system that involves using air pumps to push air over and under the car.

All this changes will come starting 2017 probably.
